Canadians should unplug their cell phone and other electronic chargers when not in use, said federal Environment Minister Jim Prentice today. Prentice told the
CBC's Don Newman on Newsworld Friday afternoon that leaving such chargers plugged in saps constant energy from the country's electrical system. From now on, my charger is out of the wall when not in use...thanks, Jim. ;-)

Do you pick up a penny when you see it on the ground? Do the math, then leave your chargers plugged. Well, at least the ones you use regularly.
I unplug AC adapters when not using them, when possible. And I do pick up loose change. I've made dozens of dollars in the last few years from picking up loose change -- and it saves Canada more money than I pick up when I put it back into circulation.
